Esquire names Halle Berry sexiest woman alive

Alongside a photo spread that shows her in little more than a T-shirt, Halle Berry talks about being the sexiest woman alive, a title Esquire magazine gives her in its November issue.

"I don't know exactly what it means, but being 42 and having just had a baby, I think I'll take it," says Berry, who gave birth to her daughter, Nahla, in March.

"Sexiness is a state of mind _ a comfortable state of being," she says. "It's about loving yourself in your most unlovable moments."

But Berry, who won an Oscar for her role in "Monster's Ball," can't claim the sexiest-woman honor...

A-list women celebrate their own in Hollywood

In the year of Sarah Palin and \"Sex and the City,\" perhaps it\'s no surprise that an event honoring women drew some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Nicole Kidman, Jane Fonda, Jennifer Lopez, Diane Keaton and Halle Berry joined dozens of other stars at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday for Elle magazine\'s 15th annual Women in Hollywood tribute, honoring seven noteworthy women in entertainment.

Chelsea Handler, the evening\'s host, cracked a few jokes at the Republican vice presidential candidate\'s expense.

Said Handler: \"We are more than just a...

R. Kelly has won a $3.4 million award against his former tour promoter and is asking a Los Angeles judge to help him collect.

R. Kelly Touring, which represents the singer, filed court documents on Monday seeking a judge\'s confirmation of the award granted against Georgia-based Rowe Entertainment last month.

Kelly\'s company claimed that Rowe Entertainment and owner Leonard Rowe failed to pay him in full for shows scheduled for late last year and early 2008.

An arbitrator agreed with Kelly\'s claims. Documents show Rowe disputed the arbitration, but did not offer an...

Madonna gives fans a treat with "Sticky & Sweet"

In a show defined by throbbing dance music, tight choreography, spectacular stage sets and stunning visuals, perhaps the most stirring moment during the kickoff concert to Madonna\'s \"Sticky & Sweet\" tour came when the Material Girl stood onstage with just her guitar and a few musicians for an acoustic set.

As she sang the emotional song from her movie \"Evita,\" Madonna couldn\'t help but wink and smile at the roaring sold-out crowd as she sang the song\'s main refrain and title: \"You must love me.\"

Maybe that\'s because she knew she was right. Even the superstar\'s most...

Obama awarded Illinois grants to relatives group    By Alex Brandon (AP)

As a state senator, Democrat Barack Obama awarded $75,000 in government grants to a Chicago social service organization led by a rabbi who is also his wife's cousin, records show.

In 1999, Obama arranged for $50,000 for adult literacy and counseling services offered on Chicago's South Side by a group called Blue Gargoyle. A $25,000 grant for the group's youth services followed the next year.

The group's executive director when the grants were awarded was Capers Funnye, a South Side rabbi and Michelle Obama's first cousin once removed.

Funnye (pronounced fun-NAY) said Monday there was nothing improper about the way Blue Gargoyle obtained the grants. Obama did not encourage him to apply for the money, he said, and Funnye denied using family connections to pressure Obama to approve the application.   Read More...
